Priamo della Quercia

Priamo della Quercia (* around 1400 probably in Quercegrossa, Castelnuovo Berardenga near Siena; † after 1467 in Siena) was an Italian painter of the early Renaissance.

Priamo della Quercia was brother Jacopo della Quercia of the famous sculptor, but his style of painting remained in the few safe attributable works still rooted more in the late Gothic period. In contrast to his brother's works he has no ground-breaking accents to early Renaissance, but rather those elements copied from other artists of his time, such as Domenico di Bartolo.

Little is known about the life of Priamo della Quercia, and are only a few works assign clearly his hand, however, including two quite significant in Santa Maria della Scala in Siena.
