Pribeník

Pribeník ( until 1948 slovak " Perbenik "; Hungarian Perbenyik ) is a town in eastern Slovakia, with 1027 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011) and is located in Okres Trebišov, kraj a circle of Košice.

Geography

The municipality is located in the southeast part of the East Slovakian Lowland in the landscape Medzibodrožie, near the Hungarian border. The center is located at an altitude of 100 m nm and is located five kilometers from Kráľovský Chlmec, 30 kilometers from Sátoraljaújhely and 60 kilometers from Trebišov.

History

Pribeník was probably before the 11th century, first mentioned in writing it is only in the year 1323. Between the 14th and 17th centuries the town developed as a market town. 1828 are listed 81 houses and 599 inhabitants.

Until 1919 part of which is in the county Semplin place the Kingdom of Hungary and was then Czechoslovakia. On the basis of the First Vienna Award, it was 1938-45 again in Hungary.
