Price Tag is a song by British singer and rapper Jessie J, she recites a duet with rapper BoB. The song was released on 30 January 2011 at the United Kingdom as a single; it will appear on her debut album Who You Are. It was written by Jessie J, Claude Kelly, BoB, and Dr. Luke. The latter also served as producer.

Composition

Price Tag is a song in the up tempo ( " feel-good title " ), influenced by reggae, hip -hop, Jessie's powerful vocals and rap. The melody is accompanied by acoustic guitars and backbeat.

The message conveyed by the text, is that money is not the most important thing in the world.

Criticism

Popjustice praised the song, describing it as the " best ever work 2011", the " her magical talent " show. James Wells praised the song and said, "It shows the typical Jessie J. " Nick Levine of Digital Spy compared the song with Miley Cyrus ' Party in the USA (2009 ), which was co-written by Jessie J. He assessed the song with five out of five stars.

Live performances

In the BBC's Later with Jools Holland Jessie J presented an acoustic version of the song. Price Tag was also played on January 18, 2011 in London at the Scala Club, together with the British rapper Devlin, who took over BoBs part. A few days later there was Jessie in a New York club for the best. On March 12, Jessie J Price Tag BoB sang with the Saturday Night Live show in New York City - her first appearance on American TV. Commercial success

The single debuted on 4 February 2011 at number 12 in the Irish charts. 6 February 2011 meant 84,000 copies sold in the first week number 1 in the UK. This became Jessie J her first number-one position. For BoB Price Tag was the third number-one hit in the UK charts. In New Zealand Price Tag went straight to # 1 and stayed there for two weeks. In the Swiss Charts Price Tag in April 2011 was Jessie's first Top Ten hit, reaching number 7 in Germany, they could also end up with 3rd place a Top Ten hit.
