Prince Andrew was the fourth son of eight children of the Greek King George I (1845-1913) and his wife, the Grand Duchess Olga Konstantinovna Romanova (1851-1926), daughter of the Russian Grand Duke Konstantin Nikolayevich Romanov and Princess Alexandra of Saxe- Altenburg.
