Prince Ferdinand, Duke of Genoa
Prince Ferdinand Maria of Savoy - Carignan, full name Ferdinand Maria Albert Philibert Amadeus of Savoy - Carignan Vincenz (* November 15, 1822 in Florence, † February 10, 1855 in Turin ) was an Italian nobleman of the house of Savoy, and in 1831 the first Duke of Genoa.
Ferdinand was the second son of King Charles Albert of Piedmont-Sardinia (1798-1849) and his wife Princess Maria Theresa of Tuscany (1801-1855), daughter of Grand Duke Ferdinand III. and Princess Louise of the Two Sicilies.
On April 22, 1850 married Duke Ferdinand in Dresden Princess Elisabeth of Saxony ( 1830-1912 ), second daughter of the Saxon King John I and Princess Amalie Auguste of Bavaria.
From this marriage two children were born:
