Prince Louis, Count of Trani

Ludwig Maria ( born August 1, 1838 in Naples, † June 8, 1886 in Paris) was the Count of Trani and Prince of Naples and Sicily.

Life

Prince Louis was the son of Ferdinand II, King of the Two Sicilies. He fell in love with the sister of his sister Marie, the Duchess Mathilde in Bavaria. On June 5, 1861 Ludwig and Mathilde married in Munich.

1867 was the first and only child of the couple, Maria Theresa, later Princess of Hohenzollern, was born. The marriage was not for both what they had expected. While Ludwig his sorrows in alcohol sales and with other women, his wife was traveling alone or accompanied by their sisters around the world.
