HM Queen Fabiola

Princess Astrid of Belgium ( born June 5, 1962 in Brussels, Belgium) is the daughter of Belgian King Albert II and his wife Paola Ruffo di Calabria, and the sister of the reigning King Philippe. She currently occupies the fifth place in the Belgian throne.

Life

Astrid was born on 5 June 1962 in Brussels, the second child of the then Prince Albert and his wife Paola. With full name is Astrid Joséphine -Charlotte Fabrizia Elisabeth Paola Maria. The sponsorships took Fabrizio Ruffo di Calabria and her aunt Grand Duchess Joséphine -Charlotte of Luxembourg.

Astrid visited a school in Brussels. She then spent a year studying art history at the University of Leiden. Your training she added at the Institute d'Etudes Européennes in Geneva as well as in Michigan (USA). From 1984 to 1993, the princess lived with her family in Basel, because her husband worked there.

Since 1997 she is also a member of the armed forces, and holds the rank of Colonel in the Medical Corps. Princess Astrid married on September 22, 1984 Lorenz Habsburg-Lothringen, Archduke of Austria -Este. The royal couple has five children:

• Prince Amedeo Maria Joseph Carl Pierre Philippe Paola Marcus d' Aviano of Belgium, Prince Royal of Hungary and Bohemia ( born February 21, 1986 in Brussels). The Prince was baptized Catholic. His godparents are his uncle King Philippe and his grandmother Paola. Amedeo attended the Jesuit school Sint -Jan Berchmanscollege in Brussels and the English boarding school Sevenoaks School. After graduation in 2004 he trained at the Royal Military College officer. From 2005 to 2008 he studied economics and political science at the London School of Economics. Currently he lives and works in New York. He is engaged to the Italian nobleman Elisabetta Maria Rosboch von Wolkenstein.
• Princess Maria Laura Zita Beatrix Gerhard of Belgium, Princess Royal of Hungary and Bohemia ( born August 26, 1988 in Brussels). Your godparents are Archduke Gerhard of Austria -Este and Archduchess Maria Beatrix of Austria -Este, both are siblings of her father. The Princess visited the Sint -Jan Berchmanscollege in Brussels and St. John International School in Waterloo. She studied Chinese Studies at SOAS in London, and spent a year abroad in China. In 2008, she enrolled at the Institute National des langues et civilizations orientales one.
• Prince Joachim Carl Maria Nikolaus Isabelle Marcus d' Aviano of Belgium, Prince Royal of Hungary and Bohemia (born 9 December 1991 in Brussels). The sponsors of Joachim are Nikolaus von Liechtenstein and Archduchess Isabelle of Austria -Este. He attended Sint -Jan Berchmanscollege, the Dutch-speaking and the English boarding school Wemelweide Malvern College.
• Princess Luisa Maria Anna Martine Pilar of Belgium, Princess Royal of Hungary and Bohemia ( born October 11, 1995 Brussels). Your godparents are Archduke Martin of Austria -Este and Pilar Escriva de Romani, the niece of her great-aunt Queen Fabiola of Belgium. They also visited the Sint -Jan Berchmanscollege.
• Princess Laetitia Maria Nora Anna Joachim Zita of Belgium, Princess Royal of Hungary and Bohemia (born 23 April 2003 in Brussels). Laetitia Maria was baptized as her siblings Catholic.
