History

Since the birth house of the mother of King Bhumibol Adulyadej was in the area between the Chao Praya River, and the Anongkharam Temple, it was the wish of the King, to obtain a similar building in the character of the birthplace. Mr. Daeng Nana and Mr Lek Nana owned several dilapidated buildings, which corresponded to the idea of the king. They made this building with an area of 4 rai ( about 6,400 m²) to the king as a gift. The Chaipattana Foundation was then commissioned to restore the building and create a garden-like park. Two buildings that served the time of King Chulalongkorn ( Rama V ) as a warehouse, have been restored as an exhibition building. An attempt was made to obtain the wooden parts of the roof, the windows and doors as possible to the original. Other residential buildings have been restored or rebuilt in the old style.
