Prisma

Prism ( Prototype Research Instruments and Space Mission technology Advancement ) is the name of a Swedish satellite mission. The mission consists of two satellites by the Swedish aerospace company Swedish Space Corporation ( SSC ) were commissioned by the national space agency SNSB with which formation flight and communication will be tested. Also should 1N thrusters are tested using the new Einkomponentenraketentreibstoff LMP- 103S, which is much less toxic than the hydrazine used up yet reached a higher specific impulse.

The launch of both satellites was carried out together with the French solar research satellite Picard on 15 June 2010 on a Dnepr rocket from the Baikonur Jasny in Russia. The smaller and about 40 kg satellite ( Tango) was separated from the 140 kg heavy mother Satellite (Mango ) until August 12, 2010 in orbit. Subsequently, a series of experiments were performed. The mother satellite is controlled in all three axes and active approaches the smaller satellites. To the two cube-shaped satellite with highly sensitive sensors are provided, such as GPS receivers. The ground station not only communicates with mango, with tango.

As of March 15, 2011 checking the Prisma mission was taken over for five months by the German Space Operations Center in Oberpfaffenhofen.
