Prix d'Amérique
The Prix d' Amérique is one of the most famous trotting race in the world. It has been held since 1920 on the last Sunday in January Hippodrome de Vincennes. It is considered the world championship of the harness racing.
The race is part of the international group I races for horses of four to ten years, which must have been run at least 160,000 euros in prize money, of which 31,000 euros in the previous year ( conditions 2009). Horses that have one of the first four places of the four preparatory race ( the Prix de Bretagne, the Prix du Bourbonnais, the Prix de Bourgogne and the Prix de Belgique) is to enjoy it - depending on the individual score - the priority. The 2009 race was worth one million euros, of which goes each half, increased by fifty percent of the revenues to the winner.
The Prix d' Amérique is held on a 2,700 -meter course, which corresponds to an entire round and another 525 meters on the large track of Vincennes.
