Prix des Deux Magots

Le Prix des Deux Magots is a French literary prize has been awarded since 1933.

Details

The prize was first awarded in 1933 on the terrace of Les Deux Magots cafes by the writer Roger Vitrac and a librarian. The ceremony took place on the same day on which André Malraux was awarded the Prix Goncourt.

The price is currently € 7,750 prize and was not awarded in the years 1939, 1940, 1943 and 1945. Since 1990 there is a Japanese counterpart, the Bunkamura Prix des Deux Magots.
