Prix Europa

The Prix Europa is the largest tri-media festival in Europe and a competition for television, radio and online productions. It was founded in 1987 in West Berlin and is managed by the Rundfunk Berlin -Brandenburg as host. 1997 merged the festival with the Prix Futura Berlin.

The annual festival with its open jury groups has around 1000 participants and takes place in October. The aim is to present under the trademark " Made in Europe", the spectrum of European productions, to make cross-border program trends recognizable and to give quality programs a forum.

The festival is supported by the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European Broadcasting Union ( EBU / UER ) and the European Alliance for Television and Culture ( EATC ). Then there are the states of Berlin and Brandenburg as well as 25 other partners from the media sector, including the RBB, the media authority of Berlin -Brandenburg ( mabb ) medienboard Berlin- Brandenburg, ARTE and ZDF. The venue is Berlin.

The competition ( Fiction, Documentary, Current Affairs, IRIS Multicultural Programs and Languages ​​through Lenses) and the radio into three categories ( radio play, radio feature and radio music program) will be played in the television sector in five categories. Since 2001 there is also the online category.

The prizes for the best European television, radio and internet programs are endowed with funds from € 6,000 each and will be awarded at the end of the festival week at an awards gala.
