Prnjavor, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Prnjavor ( Serbian Cyrillic Прњавор ) is a city and municipality in northern Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the town of about 18,000 inhabitants live in the community as a whole plenty 38,000. Since the Bosnian War Prnjavor belongs to Republika Srpska.

The city lies at an altitude of 175 meters above sea level. Through the community Prnjavor the river Ukrina flows. The municipality also comprises the largest part of the mountain Ljubić, after whom the local football club, FK Ljubić, has been named. Mayor of the City and the community is Siniša Gatarić.

Population

The majority of the population of Prnjavor are Serbs ( 70 per cent) who belong mostly to the Serbian Orthodox Church, the rest are Bosniaks, Croats, Roma and others.
