History

Gary Meskil, who previously played in the hardcore band Crumbsuckers, founded Pro-Pain 1992. Due to several line-up changes today only he is one of the Urmitgliedern. To date, the band has released fourteen studio albums, plus a live album, a "best of" and a cover album, on which they have covered songs known quantities such as Motörhead, Böhse Onkelz or Agnostic Front. Their music is mainly in its earlier phase characterized by grooving rhythms, guitar sound and especially Gary Meskils typical roaring vocals, some of which also soft clean vocals or deep growls. Many songs of the later albums of this soft style from eg by previously existing elements such as female background vocals or greater use of the double bass, the latter makes it sound more like some death metal music.

Awareness in Germany gained the band through constant live presence, but above all by big headlining tours and with post-mortem, but also as the opening act for the group Böhse Onkelz, which were supported by Pro -Pain on the complete 1998 tour and some open-air performances, such as the final concert " Vaya con Tioz ".
