ProCredit Holding AG & Co. KGaA is a holding company headquartered in Frankfurt am Main. The ProCredit group is currently composed of 21 banks in as many countries in Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa. Its core business is the provision of loans to very small, small and medium-sized enterprises as well as in the provision of other financial services to low and middle income savers who previously had limited access to regulated financial services. The business model is based on a socially responsible banking, which wants to be transparent, efficient and profitable and thus operates sustainably. It is active mainly in the emerging countries of the Balkans, Latin America and Africa as well as in Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

It goes back to the in 1998 founded International Micro Investment AG and is headed by Helen Alexander, Gabriel Schor and Anja Lepp.

ProCredit banks are represented in 21 countries with around 740 stores and about 15,600 employees. At 31 December 2010 625,000 loans with a loan volume of EUR 3.6 billion and an average loan amount of 5,800 euros were awarded.
