Producers Guild of America

The Producers Guild of America (PGA ) is a trade association established in 1962 US-American film, television and new media producer. The PGA has over 4,700 members worldwide. President of the organization is Mark Gordon.

History

The PGA emerged from the Screen Producers Guild and founded in 1957 Television Producers Guild, founded in 1950, the 1962 united. 2001 merged the PGA with the American Association of Producers and represents since all members of the production staff.

Since then, the PGA is divided into three councils:

• the Producers Council ( for producers, executive producers and co-producers )

• the AP Council ( production manager, production assistant, production coordinators, employees of post-production )

• the New Media Council for the producers of new media

In the same year a regional section of the PGA was founded City for the East Coast in New York.

Producers Guild of America Awards

The awarded since 2002 Producers Guild of America Awards were first awarded as the Golden Laurel Awards in 1990 and draw on the model of the Academy Awards special achievements of filmmakers from.
