Professional Hockey League

The Professional Hockey League ( PHL short; Ukrainian Професіональна хокейна ліга ) is the highest professional league hockey in Ukraine. The League dissolved in 2011 from the semi-professional Ukrainian Hockey League.

History

Following the 2010/11 season, it was decided to establish a fully professional hockey league in the Ukraine. This was called the Professional Hockey League and began the 2011/12 season match their operation with eight teams. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the professional teams of Ukraine took part in the operation of the game Wysschaja League, the second Russian league, and the Belarusian Extraliga regularly. While the HK Sokol Kiev at the founding of the PHL got out of the Extraliga, the HK Donbass Donetsk was 2011 in the year before founded new second Russian league, which Wysschaja Hockey League included, and takes with his second team in the game operating the PHL part.
