Professor Griff

Richard Griffin, artist name, Professor Griff ( born August 1, 1960) is a rapper and producer; He has been working since 1988 in the music business. His lyrics are political and provocative.

Life

Professor Griff was until June 1989, the PR Manager of Public Enemy, a rap group with political lyrics. Its main task was to represent Chuck D., the head of the band in interviews or even to press events.

In an interview with the Washington Times in 1989 grip shocked by anti-Semitic remarks, he praised the dictator Idi Amin with the words: " He drove all the Jews together and killed them when they tried to infiltrate into Uganda and to take over the country. " In he had claimed that the "majority of the Jews" was responsible another interview for " the majority of the filth of this world ." The pressure on him and Public Enemy was so great that Chuck D. Griffin dismissed from his team in order to secure the survival of his band.

Professor Griff founded on his own band: Professor Griff & The Last Asiatic Disciple. With this band he published several plates with Afrocentric and Islamic texts.

Meanwhile, Professor Griff is again a member of Public Enemy and is no longer active, as such, only as a press spokesman, but also as a rapper. Since 2000 he is also the frontman and co-founder of the band 7th Octave, which is located in the rap-metal. 7th Octave is a band of six members who are trying to generate a new, provocative fusion of rap and metal. They call their music Ghetto Metal.
