Pronator quadratus muscle

The pronator quadratus (Latin for " square Einwärtsdreher ") is a skeletal muscle of mammals and is located in the deep Beugerschicht of the forearm. It is a nearly square cross-section with muscle muscle and extends on the front side (the one on the palm of the hand is located ) of the forearm.

In ungulates that muscle is not formed.

Function

The pronator quadratus is, as its name implies, together with the pronator teres responsible for the pronation of the forearm. He pronated stronger than the pronator teres. A secondary function is the cohesion of the distal radioulnar joint.
