Prosimian

As prosimians ( prosimiae ) are belonging to the primates lemurs, tarsiers and Loriartigen and sometimes also summarized the tree shrews. Traditionally, they were compared with the monkeys, but are not closely related to each other than with them. To form the tarsiers along with the monkeys the kinship group of the dry nose primates. These and summarized as wet nose Primates Lemurs and Loriartigen in turn are more closely related to each other than with the tree shrews.

Tarsiers have with some wet nose primates the small body size, their nocturnal activity, the large eyes, the movable ears, the diet of insects, the V-shaped lower jaw, the non- ossified mandibular symphysis, the two-horned uterus and designated as vertical clinging and leaping locomotion in common. As with the wet nose primates have their feet on plaster claws. The shrews were assigned to the lemurs because of the bone ring around the eyes, the elastic, partly cartilaginous sublingual and because of peculiarities in the construction of the reproductive organs, the muscles and the skull.
