Meter (plural " metrics " or " Metra ", from the Greek métron, measure ') may refer to:
- Meter ( music) in music, the organization of beats in a stress pattern
- In Modern Languages verses, the basic patterns of syllabic stress that is repeated one or more times in the verse, see dipody
- Meter ( Ancient ) is the basic elements built in the ancient prosody (consisting of a particular arrangement of two to four long and short syllables ), from their regular order, the meter for a given verse
- Terminology often blurred the metrical foot or the meter
