Protection forest
A recreational forest is a forest area, particularly in the vicinity of large urban centers, which primarily serves the rest of the population. This usage is contrasted with a planned forest use and conservation priority. The recreational forest in Germany is a special category of forest, which is enshrined in the Federal Forest Act and the Forest legislation of the countries.

Description
Recreation forests are often characterized by the fact that they are close to urban residential areas that have mature trees and are accessed by a dense network of paths. Often you will find there memorial stones and marked with a name way, now and then also fixed sports equipment and children's playgrounds. Unlike parks predominates in recreation forests a closed and mixed forest landscape without major meadows and open areas.
