Protopteryx is a bird of the Jehol biota. Its most striking feature are two long central tail feathers.

Features

Protopteryx is as big a star as approximately. He is regarded as the most primitive Enanthiornithe. The two long central tail feathers have a long shaft that has no flags on the proximal side. His hand bones are longer than others enanthiornithen birds, but he already has with an initial procoracoid a significant adjustment for the flight by flapping their wings on.
