Proviantbach

Course

The provisions Bach created together with the Hanreibach from the bifurcation of the Lord Bach at the height of the Geisbergschleuse on Reichenberger Straße in the textile district and is fed from branched off at high drain Lech water. In its further course to the north of the river first touches the provisions creek district, a former worker settlement for workers of the mechanical cotton spinning and weaving Augsburg. Then the stream reaches the former abattoir and stockyard at the same Proviantbachstraße. From there the provisions stream runs approximately parallel to the Lech. After crossing the Amagasaki Avenue and Lechhauser street of Hanreibach is reunited with the provisions Bach. In the last section of the creek crosses the provisions Stadtbachstraße and then flows on the edge of the factory premises of UPM -Kymmene in the Wolfzahnau. There, the provisions Bach combined with the local stream, which then flows about 1 km in the Lech.

History

The name provisions Bach came on in the Middle Ages because the rich urban Proviantamt located east of the old abattoir and stockyard was supplied by raft with commodities such as grain, wood, lime and bricks over this up to 12 m wide channel.

Until 1853, the parallel to the Lech current provisions stream flowed south of the present - MAN bridge in the Lech. Because some industrial company wanted to use the stream for energy, we extended the canal to the Wolfzahnau. In 1877, the provisions creek was straightened and lowered his reflection.
