Province of Monza and Brianza

The Province of Monza and Brianza ( Monza e della Provincia di Italian Brianza, Lombardy Provincia Ed Monza e dla Briansa ) is an Italian province of Lombardy region. Capital is Monza, the third largest city of Lombardy. The population is 850 684 inhabitants ( 31 December 2012). The population density of the province is the second highest of all the Italian provinces to that of the province of Naples.

By order of the Italian Senate on 12 May 2004, the province was re-established. They first comprised 55 communities that previously belonged to the province of Milan. Five other churches were assigned to it by law in December 2009.

Province President and Assembly were first elected on June 6th and 7th 2009.

The province is bordered to the north by the province of Lecco and Como, Bergamo and Milan to east, south to Milan, to the west of Varese.
