Province of the Anglican Church of Rwanda

The Church of the Province of Rwanda is a member church of the Anglican Communion. She calls herself also L' Eglise Episcopal au Rwanda, so the Episcopal Church of Rwanda, and extends across Rwanda. 1992 became the Church of the Province of Burundi independence of the Rwandan church. Today it unites in itself about 180,000 believers. They are spread over eleven dioceses ( Butare, Byumba, Cyangugu, Gahini, Kibungo, Kigali, Kigeme, Shyira, Shyogwe ), headed by Primate since 1980 as the Archbishop of Rwanda. The Church of Rwanda has already received its first indigenous bishop in 1965 and formed at that time still with Uganda a common ecclesiastical province, but from which it seceded in May 1980. The dioceses of the province include an average of 40 municipalities.
