Provo Utah Temple

Provo Utah Temple (English: Provo Utah Temple, formerly the Provo Temple ) is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo, which was inaugurated in 1972.

The construction of the Provo Temple in 1969 announced simultaneously with that of the Ogden Temple, with whom he shares the design. Both buildings were designed by Emil B. Fetzer, the former House architects of the LDS. When building an approximately 6.9 hectares (17 acres ) was chosen large area in front of the entrance of Rock Canyon in the north- east of the city. The dedication of the ground and the ground-breaking ceremony was on 15 September 1969. Upon its completion, the temple was consecrated on February 9, 1972 by LDS President Joseph Fielding Smith.

The Provo Utah Temple has six regulation rooms and twelve sealing rooms. Its floor area is approximately 12,000 m². In 2003, a golden Moroni statue was placed on top of the tower. Adjacent to the temple grounds is a training center for missionaries of the LDS.
