Proximal femoral focal deficiency

Called The femur - fibula - ulna syndrome, even briefly FFU syndrome or FFU, is a mostly asymmetrical occurring combination of defects of the thigh bone ( femur) and the fibula ( fibula ) one side with a deformity of the ulna ( ulnar club hand ) on the opposite side of the body.

As for the frequency of this complex so until 1977, only 321 cases were documented, of which 106 are in Germany, where 109 of 178 cases occurred in boys and 69 in girls. There were no known prenatal factors to trigger. Furthermore, it was neither a family history, parental consanguinity or father age effect, nor a geographically and temporally related increase observed. The FFU occurs in the world.
