The Prydz Bay is a 150 kilometers deep indentation in the coast of Antarctica between the Lars Christensen Coast and Ingrid Christensen Coast. Parts of the bay were seen in January and February 1931 by Norwegian whalers and the BANZARE expedition. In February 1935, she has been explored by the Norwegian Walfängerkapitän Klarius Mikkelsen with the Torshavn and 1936/37, relatively mapped in detail with the help of aerial photographs during the expedition by Lars Christensen. It was named after Olaf Prydz, head of the Hvalfangernes Assuranceforening ( Walfängerversicherung ) in Sandefjord, Norway.

The Russian Progress station is located on the bay.
