Przebędowo, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship

Przebędowo ( German Perbanden ) is a village in Poland, in the powiat Braniewski ( circle brown mountain ) of Warmia and Mazury.

Geographical location

Przebędowo located ten kilometers south of the border with the Russian Kaliningrad Oblast in the historical East Prussia, about 22 kilometers southeast of Mamonowo ( Heiligenbeil ). East of the city, the river runs Stradick. Through the town performs a side street, approximately three kilometers east of the Polish province road runs 510 ( former German Empire Road 126), which comes from the Russian- Polish border runs. The side road joins its northern course in the neighboring Milaki a ( Müngen ) in a more secondary road which ultimately opens the nearby Lelkowo ( Lichtenfeld ) in the province road 510. It is also where the once for the location nearest train station, light field, which was operated 1885-1945 and from Königsberg ( Prussia) was (now Russian Kaliningrad ) on Zinten after Olsztyn (now Polish: Olsztyn ) led. The railway line no longer exists, the station building is still pending.

History

Mention was made of the place as Womegithen already in 1347, as Womegitten changed its name after 1438th A mention as Parbanden is occupied in 1785, the spelling Perbanten was used after 1820.

The last common German place name Perbanden from September 1, 1939 is probably due to the family Perbandt, which was already settled around 1500 in the area. So the name of Jacob Perbandt is documented among other things in a source from 1498, as this in the area of " Mungkhen " (referring to the northerly of Perbanden neighboring Müngen is ) 15 ½ hooves got hereditary overwritten.

The name is derived from the Old Prussian Perbanden " perbanda ", which means audit, control, Temptation. Another variant is the derivative of " perbandas " which means Lord of the flock.

1939, the population was 77 souls.

By 1945 the place belonged to the district Heiligenbeil in the district of Königsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia. County seat was located northwest Heiligenbeil.

After the invasion of Soviet troops in February 1945 Perbanden Poland was connected and renamed Przebędowo. In the years 1975 to 1998 it belonged administratively to the province of Elbląg.

Church

By 1945 Perbanden was incorporated in its majority Protestant population in the parish Eichholz in the church circle Heiligenbeil in the ecclesiastical province of East Prussia the Church of the Old Prussian Union.

Przebędowo today

The place was in time to 1945 from a few large farms, together with stables. The original situation was maintained up to the present day, in essence, even if some of the buildings from the pre-war period in the meantime no longer exist and others were rebuilt, such as the northern edge of the village. The road which leads from the northern Müngen in the place is unpaved and in a relatively poor condition (as of September 2012).
