Interpretation
Often, the Psalm is understood eschatologically. Others deny this view and see in Psalm merely a description of what the community has experienced in the feast of the throne.
It can be interpreted that the " water " (verse 4) represent the Gentile nations. So it is called Isa 17:12 NIV:
"Woe, a roar of many peoples; like the roaring of the seas they roar; and a noise of peoples; like the noise of many waters rushing it. "
