The PSG Zlín is a Czech ice hockey club from Zlín (formerly Gottwaldov ), which participates in the Czech Extraliga since 1993 and won their 2004 championship.

Club history

Early 1929 a hockey club called SK Bata Zlín was established in Zlín. Long time did not come to the club beyond regional competitions. This only changed by the construction of a winter stadium 1957. 1958 / 59 rose to the TJ Gottwaldov in the second league that he could win a surprise and thus rose to the first league. The last place in the first season, however, mean the descent. The back in the Bundesliga in 1962/ 63, 1968, with the sixth place, the best result in their history reaches. In the 1970s, the TJ Gottwaldov was a " lift team ". This changed in 1980, when the club rose to the first league that he no longer had to leave since. 1985 the team finished in third place, until then the greatest success.

Another highlight came in the 1994/95 season, in the play-off final of the AC ZPS Zlín HC Dadák Vsetín defeated with 1:3 games. 1999 Zlín was again runner-up and was subsequently at the top clubs in the Czech Republic. 2003/ 04 took Zlín after the group stage in second place. In the play-off quarter-finals of the HC Lasselsberger Plzeň defeated the team HC Třinec, in the semifinals. In the final, waited HC Slavia Prague, who won the first game of the best-of -seven series yet. The next four games won by HC Hamé Zlín, thus securing for the first time in club history the championship. In the following season Zlín won the first round, but lost in the final with 0:4 games against HC Moeller Pardubice.

The HC Hamé Zlín plays its home games at the ice rink " Luděk Čajka " ( Czech Zimni stadium Luďka Čajky ) in Zlín from. This was completed in 1957 and 1962, there was a canopy. The total capacity is 6,830 seats, of which 4,270 seats. Owner is the HC Hamé Zlín.
