Psi (parapsychology)

The term psi phenomenon is a scene from the term parapsychology. He referred to various hypothetical mental abilities and is named after the 23rd letter of the Greek alphabet (Psi ).

The term includes, among other extrasensory perception, the ability to perceive impressions beyond scientifically verifiable experience, such as through clairvoyance, precognition ( the ability to see into the future ) and telepathy (the ability, with other living beings without scientifically verifiable ways to communicate ) refers. Also psychokinesis or telekinesis (the ability to move things through voluntary effort ) are among the psi phenomena. The so-called " sixth sense " is referred to as psi phenomena. With him it is supposed to be able to see into the future and to influence events at will. The term was coined by biologist Bertold P. Wiesner, and first used in a publication from 1942 by Robert Thouless.

In science fiction movies and in science fiction literature Psi phenomenon is a topic often used.
