Psila fimetaria is a fly from the family of Naked flies ( Psilidae ).
Features
The flies reach a body length of 8-9 millimeters. They have a reddish yellow colored body is black bristles. Their wings are transparent. As with all species of the genus Psila the males have no thickened legs ( femurs ) on the hind legs and the females have only a simple laying pipe.
Occurrence and life
The animals are found in Central Europe and colonize the herb and shrub layer. The adults are not active enough.
