Pskhu

Pschu ( / psxu /; ფსხუ Georgian, Abkhaz Ҧсҳәы / PSX ° y / PSH ʷ ə /; Russian Псху ) is a village in the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Sukhumi Rajon in Georgia. It is 20 kilometers from the Black Sea at the same names valley between the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range and the BSYB. It has around 150 inhabitants (as of 2005).

The majority of the population is of Russian nationality. The village has a small hydroelectric power plant, with which it can meet its electricity needs and on an airfield with a grass runway. It is used irregularly for tourist flights. Near Pschu are several megalithic tombs and the ruins of a medieval fortress. The nearby mountain Inal - cuba (also Pschu - NYCHA ) is one of the seven sacred mountains of the Abkhazians.

In the summer of 1942, the Wehrmacht occupied the village. She had previously crossed the border into Georgia, but had to withdraw after a few days.
