The Psou ( Abkhaz Ҧсоу, georgian ფსოუ, Russian Псоу ) is a river in the western Caucasus, which forms the border between the breakaway Georgian republic of Abkhazia and Krasnodar District of the Russian Federation.

Geography

It rises in the western Caucasus and flows between the massif of the Great Caucasus Mountains in the north and the mountain range of the Gagra in a westerly direction to its mouth in the Black Sea. The river is 57 km long and has a catchment area of ​​about 420 square kilometers.

History
