Psoy Korolenko
Psoi Galaktionowitsch Korolenko (Russian Псой Галактионович Короленко; actually: Павел Эдуардович Лион, Pavel Petrovich Eduardo Lion; born April 26, 1967 in Moscow) is the pseudonym of a Russian-Jewish singer-songwriter, chanson singer and performance artist. Under his real name, he has also made a name as Slavic.
Biography
Korolenko pseudonym is a pun on the Russian writer Vladimir Korolenko (1853-1921), whose work explores the Slavic languages .
Korolenko sings both own songs from other sources and thereby even accompanied with various keyboard instruments, mainly with a Casio synthesizer. It varies various song traditions and sings in several languages, especially in Russian, Yiddish, English and French. Psoi Korolenko toured extensively abroad, especially in the U.S. and Europe.
