PSR B1257 12 B

PSR 1257 12 c is an exoplanet, orbiting the pulsar PSR 1257 12 all 66.54 days. Due to its low mass is assumed that it is a terrestrial planet.

Discovery

Unlike the majority of exoplanets it has been discovered using the pulsar timing method. The planet was Aleksander Wolszczan et al. discovered in 1992.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits its star at a distance of about 0.36 astronomical units at an eccentricity of 1.86 per cent and has a mass of about 4.132 Earth masses or 0.01353 Jupiter masses. Its radius is estimated to 9400 km.

Climate and composition

It is estimated that there is on the planet a temperature of 297 ° C. It is believed that the planet from a silicate core.
