PSR J1903 0327

PSR J1903 0327 is a pulsar, which is located about 21,000 light-years away from Earth. The pulsar rotates 465 times per second to himself, making it one of the fastest pulsars known self-rotation.

The neutron star is moving to a neighboring star he circled about every 95 days. Its so described elliptical orbit is unusual; it is thought that a third star is near. However, this has not yet been demonstrated.

The pulsar has a diameter of about ten kilometers and 1.74 times the mass of the sun in our solar system.

PSR J1903 0327 was discovered in 2006 by a working group at the Arecibo Observatory under the direction of the astronomer David Champion.
