Psychomotor agitation
In medicine agitation means (also: agitation ) a morbid restlessness, which is violent and sudden movements of the patient comes (symptoms: tremor, increased urge to move ). Agitation occurs primarily in psychosis or delirium, but also in normal sleep (such as a concomitant very vivid dreams). It is not to be confused with ordinary nervousness.
Even with dying people sometimes occur the so-called terminal agitation.
Agitation occurs with depression. Mastered to the clinical picture, this waveform is referred to as agitated depression. Added to this is agitation as a side effect of certain antidepressants.
Furthermore, the agitation is an accompanying symptom of cocaine abuse.
