Ptitim

Ptitim ( פתיתים ), and Israeli couscous, is an Israeli, slightly roasted, rice or spherical type of pasta.

History

The food company Osem ( אסם ) claims to have invented Ptitim in the 1950s., But similar foods existed before in North Africa as Berkukes and Lebanon as Moghrabieh or Maftoul. Ptitim as couscous and pasta made ​​from wheat, but hot dried, which gives it a slightly nutty flavor.
