Pu Hoat muntjac

The Vietnam muntjac ( Muntiacus puhoatensis ) is a poorly understood species of deer from the kind of barking deer ( Muntiacus ). He was discovered in Vietnam in 1997.

Features

Distribution, habitat, life style

The Vietnam muntjac comes in Puhoat in the province of Nghe An in northwestern Vietnam and probably in neighboring Laos ago. The habitat are evergreen forests with a closed canopy at altitudes above 900 m. About his life nothing is known.
