PUB (Stockholm)

PUB is a large department store in Stockholm, it is in the center of town at Hötorget ( Haymarket ) and the Drottninggatan. The name PUB is formed from the initials of the founder, Paul Urban Bergström.

History

Paul Urban Bergström (1860-1934) was at first small business in Stockholm and one of the first who sold sewn products made ​​clothing. In 1882, he opened his first store, about where now stands the store. He was also one of the first to abolish the widespread haggling while shopping and not " write " left. At Paul U. The buildings

In 1916, Bergström was the first department store, designed by the architect Gustaf Hermansson build Hötorget.
