He led 204 BC, the Magna Mater. 197 BC, he served as aedile kurulischer and held with his counterpart Gnaeus Manlius Vulso extremely splendid Ludi Romani. As praetor in Spain 194 BC he defeated the Lusitanians in Ilipa, as consul, he subdued the Boii and after fierce controversy was permitted to celebrate a triumph.

However, he was not elected to the Censor, not in the choice of 189 BC and not 184 BC, a failure which marks the decline of the influence of the Scipios in Rome. He helped establish the city of Aquileia in the year 181 BC and occurs again on during an examination in the year 171 BC.
