Puckane ( Irish: Pocan ), sometimes called Puckaun, a rural village in the north of the county is ( county ) Tipperary in Ireland. It is 10 km north of Nenagh along the R493 road and near Lough Derg and Dromineer. The village has about 257 inhabitants ( 2006). A local landmark is the " Paddy Kennedy 's Pub ".

The songwriter Shane MacGowan spent most of his childhood in the neighboring estate of Carney and has a variety of local places immortalized in his songs such as " The Broad Majestic Shannon". The village was mentioned in a song also known Christy Moore.
