Pucking

Pucking is a market town with 3802 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the central Upper Austria. It belongs to the administrative district of Linz-Land, the competent court is the district court district Traun.

Geography

Pucking is located on 286 m above sea level. A.. Expansion is 6.7 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 5.6 km. The total area is 19.8 km ². 19.2 % of the area is forested, 61.6 % of the area is used for agriculture. Pucking bordered to the north Horsching and Traun, to the east by Ansfelden, on the south by Neuhofen an der Krems and to the west by White an der Traun and Allhaming.

History

The story of Pucking can be traced back to Roman times: Even then ran through today's local area roads. The parish Pucking finds its first mention 1289th During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times. Since 1918, the town belongs to the province of Upper Austria. After the annexation of Austria to the German Reich on 13 March 1938, the town belonged to the " Upper Danube ". After 1945 the restoration of Upper Austria. 2004 Pucking was raised to the market town.

Incorporations

1784, the village Sammersdorf of white churches was incorporated at the Traun to Pucking. In return, you entered the village of White Mountain, together with the associated castle, from Neuhofen an der Krems.

Population Development

Culture and sights

One attraction is the 600-year -old pilgrimage church of St. Leonhard (built in 1405); they located in Sipbachtal and is accessible via an approximately 2 km long pilgrimage trail along a common road from the village.

Sports

Education

In Pucking is an elementary school that was rebuilt in 1972 and in 2004 was connected by an underground walkway to the community center "spectrum", so that access to the gym, nursery, school kitchen and library exists. Traffic

Pucking lies between two motorways, the A1 highway in the middle of the market area and the Welser motorway A25 to the north of the market area, but has no highway access. Rescue
