Puerto Rico Trench

The Puerto Rico Trench is an up to 9,219 m deep and 800 km long deep trough in the west of the Atlantic Ocean, which contains the deepest point in the Atlantic.

Geography

The Puerto Rico Trench is located directly north of the juncture of the Great and Lesser Antilles on the northeast edge of the Atlantic ocean. It is located between the North American basins in the Sargasso Sea in the northwest, north and northeast, the Guyanabecken the east and southeast, and to the Leeward Islands belonging Leeward Islands in the South East, Puerto Rico in the south and the Dominican Republic to the southwest and west.
