Puhdys is a German rock band founded in 1969. It is one of the most famous rock bands in the GDR.
The current lineup consists of Dieter " machine" Birr, Peter " Mounted " Meyer, Dieter " Quaster " Hertrampf, Peter " Bimbo " Rasym and Klaus Scharfschwerdt.

Band History
Before the turn
Precursor of the group was founded in 1965 Udo- Wendel - Combo. The initial letters of the name of the "original cast " Peter Meyer (keyboard), Udo Jacob (drums ), Harry Jeske (bass guitar) and Dieter Hertrampf (guitar, vocals) resulted in the Group name: P ... Stylistically initially rejected it on to hard rock idols like Deep Purple, Uriah Heep and Led Zeppelin. With original compositions by Wolfgang Tilgner and Burkhard R. Lasch, the Puhdys developed the most successful East German rock group of the 1970s. First major notoriety gained the Puhdys 1971 by sending bazaar in the GDR television. Dieter " machine" Birr

Dieter " Quaster " Hertrampf
Dieter Hertrampf ( born November 29, 1944 in Berlin) is the lead guitarist and vocalist and was one of the founding members of the 1969 Puhdys. He is married for the fourth time with Liane, has three children and a foster son ( Carsten Moor, keyboardist at Rock House ). His son Hendrik Röder is bassist of pop band Bell, Book & Candle.
Klaus Scharfschwerdt
Klaus Scharfschwerdt ( born February 27, 1954) is the drummer of the Puhdys since 1979, as the successor of Gunther Wosylus.
