A Pucara ( Quechua Pukara: Fortress ) is a built by the Inca or other Ureinwohnernder central Andes fortress. Pucarás there in Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, northern Chile and northwestern Argentina, where they are also called Pucara ( stress on the second syllable).

Today, the term is widely used as a toponym in the Andean region.
