Puka ( Albanian: Pukë ) is a small town in Albania. Puka has 3607 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). Local authorities, however, indicate a number of 5558 inhabitants. It is the main town in the district of the same.

Puka is located in a mountainous region of northern Albania to over 800 meters in height. The place is about 60 kilometers east of Shkodra on the main road to Kukes and Kosovo, the Rruga shtetërore SH5 located. This route has been used for thousands of years. In ancient times was called Puka Epicaria, which was founded by the Illyrians. The ancient settlement is located four kilometers to the south.

The ruins of a fortress above the town should come from Lekë Dukagjini, a contemporary of Skanderbeg, who gave his name to the most famous Albanian customary law. The fortress was inhabited even earlier but, since about 2000 years.

In Puka the poet Migjeni, where a small museum devoted lived.

Belongs to the municipality together with the small town villages Pukë - Fshat and Lajthiza, where around one-fifth of the population lives.

The economy is predominantly agricultural. The most important employer is the government. Unemployment stands at around 40 %. The community has in recent years continuously lost population who have migrated to the coast or abroad.
